New Adventure

Yeah, it's been awhile. Like months. But hey, life happens, right? And instead of trying to catch up on those months, I'm just gonna go ahead and NOT. Catch-up is my least favorite game.
So in current news, I'm leaving to Thailand in 5 days. Yeeeuhhh. Random? Perhaps. I'm going to be doing volunteer work through an organization called IVHQ, working with an NGO called Mirror Foundation in Chiang Rai, northern Thailand. Janella and I are heading over there together and will be there for 5 weeks, 4 of which will be volunteer work. We'll be teaching English to children of the hill tribes there. We've got a few days in Bangkok before heading to Chiang Rai, so that should be an adventure. Neither of us speaks a lick of Thai. Woohoo! lol
Anywho, I'm taking my laptop--everybody cross your fingers that it'll be safe and sound with me--so I should be able to post some pics and update this blog while I'm there. I'll definitely have some time on here en route to Thailand. Don't worry, it's only 24 HOURS IN THE AIR. And on my way home? 8 1/2 hour layover in SFO. Most definitely heading to Fisherman's Wharf and the pier during that time. I've never been to Frisco.
So that's what's happening right now. And other stuff that I don't really wanna blog about. I'm just excited to leave the country--I always seem to leave at opportune moments. And the goal of all of this--besides having an amazing experience--is that it'll strengthen my application to the Master of Public Health program at the Y. We shall see. Alright, I just got roped into babysitting my neighbors tonight. Yup. Friday night babysitting. And then I think I got a hot date with Gold's Gym. Sweet.
