Just Another Day in Paradise

Last night we got some delicious fried rice and smoothies from the street vendors. Fried rice for 40 baht and a real fruit smoothie for 20 baht--unbeatable. I love Thailand. Anyway, this morning we decided to go to Chicken and Tub Islands again. It was 400baht for a ticket. And it was absolutely perfect there today. Sun shined all day long--first day it hasn't rained. We enjoyed ourselves a little too much in the crystalline water, under the blue skies.

It was a little too bright to keep my eyes open lol

We snorkeled in those beautiful waters and just relaxed on our floaties. Well, my floatie and Janella's life jacket lol. When we went to Sev yesterday, this cute little Thai boy started punching our floaties. He loved them. So Nella gave hers to him haha. Anyway, after awhile we went over to Tub Island. I walked across the isthmus and Janella floated. It was cool to walk from one island to the other--it was strange to feel waves crashing on my feet and legs from two different directions. Wave wars. We spent some time in those waters as well, and then we tried to float over the isthmus. My floatie started deflating a whole lot. Janella also lost her snorkel mask--that makes two masks she's lost haha. But hey, nothing dampened our spirits today lol.
After getting back to Chicken Island, I decided to walk down the beach and check out the surroundings. Man, I'm glad I did. I was the single solitary person on the beach I ended up on. What a dream, right? Best beach ever, and I was all by myself on it. Doesn't get much better than that! Okay, let's be real...having someone there with me would be pretty nice lol but I'm not complaining! I got to walk around, looking at the beautiful seashells that have washed up on shore and just be dazed by the blue of the sky, the green of the trees and plants, the white of the sand, and the turquoise blue water. How do people believe in evolution???
Anyway, I read a bit on the beach, we tried one of the swings they have in the trees on the beach, and then we headed out around 3.

The ride home on our longtail boat was the most tense longtail ride we've had for sure! The wind made some BIG waves, and that was kinda scary lol. We had a few tense moments there where I thought we'd tip or be swallowed up in some wave. But...we made it back! And I'm fried lol. I sunscreened up many a time, but the sung is so incredibly strong in Thailand, and that much more on the islands.
Anway, fantastic day definitely! I still have to pinch myself sometimes and remind myself that I'm really in such a beautiful place--the kind of place you see advertized and know you'll never go to lol. And somehow I ended up here!
